In general, you will want to have your horses' hooves trimmed at least every 6-8 weeks. Regular, consistent hoof care appointments for your horses results in happier horses who know and trust us as we develop our bond with them — and you!
If you have an emergency equine medical need, we strongly recommend you call your vet first or Cornell's equine hospital at (607) 253-3100.
For urgent farrier needs, please reach out to us. We will do our best to accommodate you and your horse. If we cannot adjust our schedule, we will try to refer you to a colleague.

Yes, we work with most animals that can benefit from basic or therapeutic shoes, including horses, foals, donkeys, mules, even cows! Reach out and ask us about your situation and we will respond promptly.
For new clients, the best way to make an appointment with us is to book an introductory phone call here. On this call we will discuss your horses' needs, pricing, and set a time to visit your barn.

Thank you for asking this question! We so appreciate when our clients take the time to ensure a safe and calming environment for their horses.
- Please have all horses caught, haltered, and tied or held in a safe working environment.
- If horses are muddy, please take a moment to wipe the mud off your horses' legs and feet before their appointment.
- Kindly ensure our work will take place in an area where your horse won't be distracted by other horses or animals.
- If your horse is in pain, or if you think they might need sedation for their service because they are unable to be handled safely, please let us know in advance so we can be prepared. Please note that we do not provide sedation — it is your responsibility to obtain this from your veterinarian beforehand.
Thank you for asking! Because we travel to our clients' barns, we work to group appointments in similar locations on a particular day so that we can maximize our time with your horses and stay on schedule. Many of our clients take advantage of our annual service packages, and therefore receive priority booking privileges.
For this reason, we greatly appreciate 48 hour notice by phone or text if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. That way we can try to rebook your slot with another client.
That said, if you have another animal that needs hoof care who can take the original time slot, we may be able to work with you, as long as the service and time required is similar. Thank you!
